Corsica 2010

Objectives:
The GR20 is a long distance trail that traverses the island of Corsica from north to south and is 180km long. It does not require any climbing however there is a great deal of ascent and descent and so it is a very demanding trek.

Cycle Norway 2010

Approximate dates: 4 September – 28 September 2010
Aim: To foster the spirit of adventure and encourage, through active participation the development of leadership skills
Objectives:
Cycle from Calais to Oslo in 21 days, cycling along the north sea coastline through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. The venture will be a significant physical challenge requiring us to cycle around 130 kilometres a day solidly for 3 weeks to cover the 2400km distance. The experience should be mind broadening and a good experience of Scandinavian culture. We will also be raising money for Cancer research.

Nepal Community-based Expeditions
Okhle Village Trust was set up in 2003 by Richard Backwell MBE, a retired teacher and expedition leader, and is coordinated by Nepali trek guide Bimal Gurung. The Trust runs a variety of projects in a cluster of villages in the Mahabharat hills of Northern Nepal. Its aim is to contribute funds, expertise and manpower to enriching the remote communities it enjoys close ties with, in both a sustainable and ethical way.
Projects to date have focused on water supplies, access roads, education and social development; ongoing projects include:
