Training
When you join a Leading Edge Expedition you automatically qualify for membership of the Dorset Expeditionary Society.
The Society is committed to promoting leadership in our young people. Safe and responsible expeditioning demands the highest standard of leadership. Members are frequently sponsored to gain such qualifications as the Single Pitch Assessment, Emergency Rescue Care First Aid, Cave Leadership and Mountain Leadership Awards.
Once you are a Member, you gain access to our Training fund and can apply for training course grants. We want you to develop the skills and experiences you learn on expedition and we want to train young leaders to run their own expeditions.
The Society currently runs a Young Leader's Scheme to encourage promising individuals to further their Outdoor Adventure skills. If you would like more information, please visit the DES website at www.dorsetexp.org.uk
